$3,070 was raised for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation at the Melody May Team’s 2nd annual Car Wash for Shelter, held in Pointe-Claire, QC.

75 cars were washed and shined by a team of 25 rotating volunteers. Although the weather wasn’t the best, the pouring rain held off until the end of the day.

“I am proud of how each and every member of my team stepped up and fully embraced the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, making it as near and dear to their hearts as it is to my own,” said May. “They worked tirelessly to ensure that we executed a seamless and successful event.”

Special guests were past and current residents of the West Island Women’s Shelter who dropped by to assist. “The impact of their presence was humbling, and reinforced the reasons why we continue to do all we can to help those in our community who need safe shelter from domestic violence,” said May.

Funds raised at this event will be directed to May’s participation in the Sahara Desert Challenge for Shelter. Each trekker must raise $5,000 in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation and cover their own travel costs to Morocco to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime trek through the Sahara Desert in November 2019.
